Welcome to Frugal Living Press

Welcome to Frugal Living Press™.

In early February of this year, three women met to talk about their financial situations. Beginning in late 2008, the country’s economy is nothing if not a rollercoaster ride of dire warnings about what will happen next.

Alice Kieft, Carol Wiley Lorente and Margi Washburn got together on a rainy afternoon, and after a few hours they had a plan: They would start a business. They agreed on many things, disagreed on some others, but the most important decision was that this new venture would be designed to help others in a unique way.

Here is a little background on each partner:

For many years, Alice was a manager in the travel division of a large U.S. corporation. She had to leave the company when illness led to disability and ultimately, bankruptcy. Alice had to start over; she moved back to the Midwest for its lower cost of living and set about making a new life based on a new set of priorities.

Carol is a food writer and editor and former newspaper reporter. She has had to learn to survive the periodic joblessness that comes with the territory of self-employment. As the single mother of two children (now grown), she learned quickly how to stretch a dollar.

Margi is a newspaper feature writer and editor. The daughter of a single mother and the wife of a retiree, she knows how to live frugally without feeling deprived.

These three brief paragraphs cover but a fraction of the experience these women bring to Frugal Living Press. Each writer has her areas of expertise, both in subject matter and life experience. They are combining those attributes into eBooks available for download on our website: http://www.frugallivingpress.com/.

Living frugally has become quite the “in” thing. While one report touts the new frugal lifestyle, another report predicts more unemployment, higher prices and no end in sight.

We’ve decided that living within our means, getting the most for our hard-earned money, or whatever you want to call it, is worth it. Once you find out how you really can buy and prepare a meal for a dollar, or save oodles of money by shopping smart with rebates, eBates and coupons, or keep your four-legged friend happy and healthy for a lot less money, you may wonder what other areas of your financial life could use a little help. That’s where we come in, with many more eBooks on a wide variety of subjects in the coming months.

Perhaps a peek at our mission statement will sum up our intention to our readers:

“Our mission at Frugal Living Press LLC is to bring you information on living well on less money. In that regard, we strive to research topics important to your life and to bring you the best information we can find on those topics. In addition, it is important for us to provide good customer service.”

And there you have it.

Alice, Carol and Margi invite you to visit often, check out what’s new, and drop us a line with suggestions for your areas of interest. We want to help you live the good life, and for a lot less money.

See you on Opening Day!
